The ‘4th National Girls’ Programming Contest – 2019′ was held recently hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU) for the 3rd time in collaboration with DIU Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DIU Girls’ Computer Programming Club (DIU GCPC), Bangladesh Computer Council and ICT Division of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
The program was inaugurated by Munir Hasan, Information Technology Consultant and Open Source Software consultant, Prof Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Head , Dept of CSE of DIU and Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jahangirnagar University.
The champion team was “BUET_A_Team” of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for solving 7 highest problems, the 1st runner up was team “JU_LightFury” for solving 7 problems from Jahangirnagar University, the 2nd runner up was team “CUET_Melanostictus” for solving 6 problems from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology. The champion was awarded with 50,000 BDT, trophy and medal. The 1st runner-up and 2nd runner- up were awarded with 30,000 BDT and 20,000 BDT, trophy, medal respectively. Besides top 10 teams were awarded with medals and all the participants were given a certificate of appreciation.
The award giving program was held at the 71 Milonaytan, DIU. In the award giving ceremony the chief guest was Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director, BHTPA were present in the program. Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BUET was present as chief judge in the program.
Engr Enamul Kabir, Director – Training ,Bangladesh Computer Council , Dr Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, Professor, Department of CSE, University of Dhaka, Prof Dr Md. Sayeed Salam, Vice Chancellor of State University of Bangladesh, Md. Iftekhar Alam Ishaque, Asst. General Manager, SSL Wireless, Gazi Munir Uddin, HR Professional in Chevron, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh and Head of Department CSE from different universities were present as special guests in the award giving ceremony.
