Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) has approved its Taka 108 crore and 80 thousand budget for 2015-2016 fiscal year. Among the said amount UGC will provide taka 102 crore and 10 lac as grants and rest 6 crore and 70 lac will come from the own income of BUET.
University Syndicate okayed the budget at a meeting was held on June 30th with Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Syndicate Prof. Khaleda Ekram in the chair.
This year BUET authorities will spend a total of Taka 82 crore for salary and pension, taka 13 crore for general expenses, Taka 8 crore 70 lac for education and research purpose and Taka 5 crore and 10 lac allocated for repairs and other necessary goods collection. Amounting taka 8 crore 70 lac for research and education, among the said amount, University Grants Commision (UGC) will provide Taka 8 crore and 30 lac while the remaining 40 lac will come from University’s own sources.
