Leaders of different Buddhist organizations on Wednesday hailed honourable president and chancellor of the universities, Advocate Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid for appointing professor Dr Pravat Chandra Barua as Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Science and Technology, Chittagong (USTC).
In a joint statement, they said it is the present government which made Prof. Dr Pravat Chandra Barua a person first among the members of the Buddhist community VC of any university of the country.
