BSTI sues 7 bakeries

The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) yesterday filed a case against the owners of seven business institutions for not renewing certificates and for selling and distributing goods without assess standards.
Mohammad Safayet Hossain, an officer of BSTI, Chittagong Zone, filed the case with the court of Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
BSTI, Chittagong conducted several drives in different business institutions under city’s Double Mooring and Panchlaish police stations on Monday and filed the case against the owners of seven bakeries today.
The business institutions sued under BSTI Ordinance 1985 and BSTI Act (Amendment) 2003, the BSTI sources added.
