Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution fined four food factories including Mr. Baker Tk 6.60 lakh for selling adulterated food in an unhygienic manner in the city on Thursday.
The BSTI conducted the drives in Khilgaon, Malibagh, Turag, Jatrabari and other areas in the city yesterday.
The three shops are: Pusti Dairy and Bakery, Al Arabian Sweets and
Bakery and Lucky Shemai Factory.
The BSTI mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Tanjila Kabir and Executive Magistrate Sarowar Alam raided the factories.
The mobile court found huge outdated and rotten cakes were kept in the Mr. Baker’s factory. Besides, Mr. Baker was involved in marketing ghee and toasts without taking CM license from BSTI.
