BSS, Chittagong :A court here yesterday in a verdict awarded a man to death sentence on charges of killing his close relative in 2013.The court of the divisional speedy trial tribunal Judge Mohitul Hoque Enam Chowdhury, pronounced the verdict convicting Mohammad Foisal Islam Rasel, 26, brother- in- law of victim businessman Ohidur Nabi Shahin,32, hailed from Rangunia upazila of the district.The court also fined him Tk 5,000, court sources said. The prosecution story, in short, is that the convicted person stabbed to death to Shahin suspecting illicit relation with Rasel’s wife on October 5 in 2013. Police with the help of locals caught Rasel in red handed from Badamtali area under Doublemooring thana after the incident.Later, victim’s father Mohammad Ibrahim filed a case with Doublemooring thana against Rasel that day on charges of the killing his son. Police submitted a charge sheet on January 11 in 2014 while the court framed charge against Rasel on April 9 in 2014.
