The agitating students of the History Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University unlocked its administrative building on Wednesday on the occasion of celebrating Mujib Borsho. The students locked the administrative building on 9th March demanding University Grants Commission (UGC) approval for their department.
The student also postponed their hunger strike unto death as the teachers assured them that they will join in the movement if the UGC does not give the approval of the history department within 31st March.
A written statement signed by 34 teachers said, “we’ll join with the students if the UGC does not give the approval of the history department within the last week of March, 2020”
Though the students postponed their fast unto the death program, but on Wednesday they continued their sit-in program for the 34th consecutive day.
