BSMRAU Professor obtains PhD

G M Monirul Alam, Associate Professor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) has obtained PhD degree from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. His dissertation entitled ‘An Assessment of the Livelihood Vulnerability of the Riverbank Erosion Hazard and its Impact on Food Security for Rural Households in Bangladesh’. His research results have been published in various internationally reputed high impact factor journals including, Ecological Economics, Ecological Indicators and J of Environmental Management.
Monirul Alam was born in a respected Muslim family at Mongolkote village under Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district. He is the youngest son of late Kayem Uddin Ahmed and Jamila Khatun. He is an active member of several voluntary organizations.
