A Bangladeshi youth was gunned down by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the Moulvibazar border. The incident took place at the East Batuli area in Jurir ??Phultala UP on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Bappa Mia, son of Abdur Rauf of the area. Confirming the matter, Phultala UP member Moinuddin said Bappa’s body was found on the other side of the barbed wire fence in the East Batuli area around 4:00 am on Saturday.
Bappa Mia is known as a cattle trader. His body was dumped there after he was gunned down by BSF on the other side of the border, he added. Juri Police Station OC Sanchay Chakraborty said several people had crossed the border illegally on Friday night. When the BSF fired empty shells, everyone fled but Bappa Mia was shot dead. His body is now on the other side of the barbed wire. The incident has been reported to the BGB.
