India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has detained two Bangladeshi youths at Putkhali border near Benapole.
The two, detained on Tuesday evening, were handed over to West Bengal’s Bongaon police, said Subedar Shamsur Rahman, Commander of BGB’s Putkhali Company under Battalion 23 in Khulna.
The detainees have been identified as Abdullah, 20, of Putkhali and Rubel Hossain, 22, from Khulna.
Both of them are cattle traders, according to locals.
Shamsur said, when BSF was contacted, after receiving complaints from the duo’s families, they were
told that the two had been detained for attacking BSF personnel.
But their family members claimed they were chased and detained while returning from India with cattle.
