BSEC organized Road-Show in Dubai to attract NRBs investment

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has organized a road-show titled “The Rise of Bengal Tiger: Potentials of Bangladesh Capital Markets” at Creek ballroom of Park Hyatt in Dubai that has commenced on Tuesday to reach out to non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) investors and to attract foreign investment in Bangladesh.
The summit will continue till tomorrow (Friday) at the same venue. This investor summit is expected to increase the market participation of foreign and NRB investors in the Bangladesh capital market.
The Investor Summit and road-show has been sponsored by UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Commercial Bank Limited while Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, has graced the occasion as the chief guest. He gave an inspirational speech sharing his personal experiences to explain the risky nature of the capital market, emphasizing the need for proper research and disciplined investment approach. He praised the current leadership and also thanked the present commission for their various new initiatives. He also thanked the NRBs for their great role and contribution in Bangladesh economy and also termed them as “Golden son of the country”.
State Minister for Youth and Sports, Md Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP also attended the event as the special guest and thanked the NRBs for the windfall remittance which also helped Bangladesh during the pandemic.
BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam chaired the road-show. He gave the closing remarks and highlighted the important role of the capital market for raising long term funds through bond and sukuk to solve the maturity mismatch problem long prevailing in our banking sector.
