The Birangana Sakhina (B.S.) Silver Pen Awards were distributed on different fields including journalism; research, science and technology; arts, education, language, literature, and social service a colourful ceremony at Shahid Shahab Uddin Conference Room of Mymensingh Municipality on Monday.
President of the electoral committee Md. Fazar Ali presided over the ceremony. Freedom fighter Adv. Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP inaugurated the ceremony organised by the Electoral Committee for the Birangana Sakhina (B.S.) Silver Pen Award and Creative Association
The ceremony was also attended by Dean Prof Md. Abdur Rashid, Convener of Dean Council of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh as a Chief Guest, Md. Ekramul Haque Titu, Mayor of Mymensingh City Municipality as special guest, Senior Vice President of this electoral committee, Engr.Mohammad Ali Zinnah, former Superintendent ( Retd.) of Government Textile Vocational Institute, founder and General Secretary of electoral committee Mohammad Raihan Uddin Sarker, Gouripur Correspondent , The New Nation and with others, elite persons, political leaders, journalists, poets and educationalists, and NGO officials
Senior Vice President of this electoral committee and Returning Officer of the electoral voting systems Engr.Mohammad Ali Zinnah, announced the result of the electoral vote cast as well as the names of the winners of Birangana Sakhina (B.S.) Silver Pen Awards- 2014 on 29 December 2015.
Those who received awards are : Prof. Kazi M. A. Munayem , Anwer Hossain Shahina and Md Rakibul Islam Rakib on journalism; Md. Abdullah Kenu Mistory of Gouripur upazila as excellent innovator of agriculture on research, science and technology, Writer Azam Zahirul Islam of Gouripur upazila, Poet Abdul Hannan Ujatix of Nandail upazila and writer Shafiqul Islam Khan of Kendoa upazila of Netrakona district on arts, education, language, literature, and Md. Ekramul Haque Titu, Mayor of Mymensignh City Municipality , Dr.Abdul Mannan , Ex chairman of Gouripur Municipality and District Judge (retrd.) Latif Ahmed Khan, founder of Nizom Binodan Park in Kendoa upazila of Netrakona district for contributions in the field of social service in greater Mymensingh areas.
