Brothers Union defeated Soccer Club, Feni 2-0 in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Monday.
Nigerian midfielder Ezoedika Simon scored both the goals for the winners in the 75th and 89th minute of the match.
Simon’s first one put Brothers Union ahead and had broken the deadlock of the match.
Simon’s right footer from 25 yards out took a dip to beat Soccer Club goalie Golam Mostofa Tohan, 1-0.
Repeating the act, Simon doubled the lead as he unleashed another cracking right footer in the far post net from the top of the box, 2-0.
Earlier, Feni Soccer came close to a strike in the 54th minute when the overlapping defender Rocky found the ball at the left edge of the six yard box, but his shot was saved by a diving Brothers goalie Biplob Bhattacharjee.
Brothers Union Haitian forward Augustine Walson spoiled an opportunity in the 62nd minute as he placed a ball wide from a close range off a Simon cross.
With this result, Brothers earned 35 points from 19 matches while Feni Soccer secured 18 from as many matches.
