Brothers notch 9 wkts win against Kalabagan KC in DPL

Brothers Union notched a massive 9-wicket victory despite Hamilton Masakadza’s century for Kalabagan Krira Chakra in the 7th round match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-3 on Wednesday.
With the day’s result, Brothers collected eight points from seven matches having four wins and three losses while Kalabagan KC remained on their previous collection of four points with two wins and five losses.
In the day’s match, chasing a moderate target of 263 runs, Kalaban KC finished the innings at 253 for all in 49.2 overs riding on the 3rd wicket stand of 122 runs in 19.1overs between H Masakadza and Tasamul Haque.
The 3rd pair started from 88/2 in 22.3 overs after Jashimuddin’s dismissal and ended at 210/3 in 41.4 overs as Tasamul was caught by Milind Kumar off Nabil Samad bowling.
After Tasamul, all batters failed to stay long with the centurion H Masakadza who was run out at team’s 243/6 in 46.4 overs hammering 111 off 105 balls that included nine boundaries and one six. Later, H Masakadza took 2/43 for the side and was adjudged man of the match.
Tasamul scored 45 off 57 balls with two boundaries while Shadman Islam and Jashimuddin added 30 runs each.
Left-handed spin bowler Nabil Samad debacle the Kalaban KC’s batting castle claiming four wickets for 47 runs in 10 overs. Sadiqur Rahman dismissed two wickets for 23 runs while Milind Kumar, Asif Hasan and Tushar Imran took one wicket each.
Sent in to bat first, Brothers scored 262 for all in 49.3 overs spurred by the 2nd wicket stand for 126 runs in 25.5 overs, between Tushar Imran and Imrul Kayes.
The 2nd pair recovered the early damage, starting from 36/1 in 5.3 overs, carried the team total to 162/2 in 31.2 overs before Tushar was caught by Dewan Sabbir off Sharifullah’s delivery.
Skipper Tushar top-scored 77 off 87 balls featuring eight boundaries and one six. Opening batsman Kayes was lbw by veteran spinner Abdur Razzak, scoring 67 off 86 balls that involved five boundaries.
Milind Kumar, Nur Alam, Sadiqur Rahman and Shahriar Nafees scored 27, 23, 22 and 15 runs respectively for the side.
Dewan Sabbir, Sharifullah and Abdur Razzak bagged two wickets each for 18, 28 and 56 runs respectively.
