Newly appointed British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake on Wednesday met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The one-hour meeting that began around 5:30pm was held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office.
This was the first meeting between Khaleda and Alison Blake since the new British High Commissioner arrived in Dhaka in January this year. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, chairperson’s advisers Reaz Rahman and Sabihuddin Ahmed were also present at the meeting.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Sabihuddin Ahmed said it was an
introductory and courtesy call on of the British envoy with the BNP chief. He, however, declined to elaborate what they discussed with Alison Blake at the meeting.
