Brisk preparations to celebrate Pahela Boishakh in dists

Preparations for ‘Pahela Boishakh’ with various colourful programmes and enthusiasm for bidding farewell to outgoing 1421 and welcoming Bangla New Year 1422 on April 14, going on full swing in Barisal city.
Volunteers of Charukala Barisal working day and night to organise traditional ‘Mangol Shovajatra (procession of well being for all) ‘ from Brojo Mohun Bidyaloy (B M School) ground on April 14 morning with ‘Rakhi Bandhan (friendship ties) ceremony, which would be inaugurated by Mir Mijtaba Ali, senior cultural activist.
Mangol Shovajatra would be ended at Barisal City College ground carrying motifs of Bangali folk and daily life.
Charukala Barisal will also arrange a two-day long ”Lokojo Sangskritik Prodorshani ( folk cultural fair) ” , painting competition at Barisal City College ground focusing on regional life, folk and heritage including preparation and marketing of different handicraft items, performing folk songs and dramas like Jari, Sari, Royani, Hoyla, presenting painting exhibition.
Three-day long ‘Boishakh Utsov’ with ‘Boishakhi Mela’ (Bangla new year’s fair) and cultural functions arranged by Udichi at B M School ground would also be held.
Shabdaboli Group Theatre at Barisal central Shahid Minar, Chander Hut at Barisal T B Clinic field, Planet World Children Park at park premises and local businessmen at Hatkhola will arrange Choitra Sangkranti Utsav, Boishakhi Mela, and cultural programme in the city from April 12-15.
Kheyali Group Theatre arranged ‘Sangskritik Adda’ with cultural show at their office premises to bid farewell and welcome Bangla year from April 13 evening to April 14 early hours.
Sylhet Correspondent adds : All kinds of preparations are being taken in the sylhet city and its surroundings areas to bid farewell to the outgoing Bangla year 1421 and welcome the Bangla New Year 1422 in a befitting manner, shedding off all tensions for the country’s ongoing political impasse. Various programmes have been chalked out to mark the occasions on April 13 and 14 respectively. Volunteers of sylhet Udichi and sylhet Natak are working day and night to organise traditional ‘Mangal Shovajatra’ (welcome procession) from central shohid miner with ‘Rakhi Bandhan (friendship ties), Dhak (drum) festival and Shakh ( conch) festival ceremony and motifs of Bangali folk and daily life on April 14 morning.
BSS from Rangpur adds: All preparations have been completed and massive programmes chalked out to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year 1422, amid huge enthusiasm and traditional festivities on April 14 next in Rangpur division.
The authorities concerned have taken tight security measures for ensuring peaceful Baishakhi celebrations with traditional culture, pride, glories and rich ancestral heritages of the Bangalees in line with the spirit of War of Liberation.
