Brigadier General ABM Elias (Retd) former Military Secretary to the President (1984-1989) and diplomat died of cerebral haemorrhage on Saturday at Dhaka CMH. He was 71.
He was commissioned in the 35th PMA in 1965 and served various military commands and posts in the independent Bangladesh and South Korea.
He was the Founding Commander of 33rd Artillery Brigade in Comilla. He served in Diplomatic Mission to Turkey as Defence Attache.
He is survived by daughter Sabreena Islam and son Shaat-el Elias.
