A small bridge on the old Brahmaputra at Borakhali village in Charalgi union of Gafargaon, Mymensingh collapsed on Tuesday evening less than a year after it was built.
The bridge was constructed by the Disaster Management Department on a small river in the old Brahmaputra on the Hajipur Bazar road in Hossainpur upazila of Nayapara-Kishoreganj district in the Charalgi union of the upazila. The bridge was constructed at a cost of about Tk. The office of the Upazila Project Implementation Officer supervises the construction of the bridge. According to the locals, the construction work of the bridge was completed a year ago after the scheduled time.
