A brick kiln worker was gunned down and another bullet-hit allegedly by extortionists at Kumari village in Alamdanga upazila early Thursday. The deceased was identified as Sujon,35, son of late Malek Mridha of Sahapur village of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district. Quoting locals, police said a band of armed miscreants stormed the factory of MR Bricks in the area at about 2:00 am and beat up the labourers working there.
They also fired shots on them, leaving Sujon dead on the spot and another labourer injured with bullets. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy. The injured was admitted to a local clinic.
