Saif Sporting Club (SC) defeated Uttar Baridhara Club by 3-1 goals in their second leg match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Saif Sporting Club have taken the sixth position in the points table bagging 38 points 21 matches, while Uttar Baridhara Club have taken the 10th position with 19 points from 22 matches.
Saif’s Nigerian recruit John Okoli put his team ahead after dodging past a Baridhara’s defender and put the ball into the net deceiving the Baridhara’s goalie Mitul Marma in the 28th minute of the play.
After the lemon-break, Saif’s Nigerian recruit Kenneth Ikechukwu tapped the ball into the goal bar using a right side cross of his teammate Faisal Ahmed Fahim in the 66th minute of the game.
Maruf Ahmed of Uttar Baridhara reduced the margin by a forceful shot in the 75th minute of the clash.
John Okoli of Saif Sporting Club sealed the fate of the match (3-1) using a cross of his teammate Fahim in the third minute of the injury time of the second half.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police Football Club beat minnows Arambagh Krira Sangha by a solitary goal in the day’s other match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur.
