BPC builds a new resort in Rangamati

Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) has added a new resort with its existing unit Holiday Complex at Rangamati.
The BPC constructed the new resort with an outlay of Taka 10 crore to explore tourism utilizing the flora and fauna, as well as the hilly beauty of Rangamati.
The site of the resort was selected considering beauty of the lake with an attractive climate, tourists’ friendly greeneries, the manager of Rangamati Holiday Complex, Alok Bikash Chakma told BSS Sunday.
The construction of the resort equivalent to 4-star hotel status with international standard is at its final stage. It is funded by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. The just built resort is equipped with ballroom, bar, capsule lift and information technology apart from residential facility of international standard, maintained Alok.
The 35-room Holiday complex, comprising of AC, non-AC, 50 seated air-conditioned restaurant, transport parking space, picnic spots and hanging bridge has been entertaining the tourists presently apart from providing them with watercrafts for lake cruising.
According to data maintained with Rangamati Holiday Complex that tourists from home and abroad visit Rangamati varies from 4-5 million a year.
Former state minister of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and also a traditional ethnic leader, Dipankar Talukdar said the influx of tourists to Rangamati will increase by more than 100 per cent if infrastructure and communication network is developed and tourism spots are set up, enhancing facilities for tourists.
Terming Rangamati with high potentials, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mohammad Mostafa Kamal told BSS Sunday that BPC should come forward to execute development of the area as the district administration is concerned with ensuring security to tourists and safe movement across the district.
