A minor boy who was kidnapped from Dhaka on Friday was rescued from a residential hotel in the district town on Monday night.
The victim was identified as Adnan Khan Minar, 2, son of Amir Hossain in Mohammadpur of the capital.
The elite force also arrested three alleged kidnappers-Kutub Uddin, 38, Yeasmin, 30, and Nila, 25, hailing from different areas of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar-from the spot.
Quoting family members, Mirza Moktar Hasan, camp in-charge of RAB-7, said kidnappers picked up Minar from Tejgaon area of the capital on Friday.They then took the boy to a residential hotel at Holiday intersection in Cox’s Bazar town and demanded Tk 5 lakh from the victim’s family members as ransom.
The victim’s father lodged a general diary in this regard.
Police conducted a drive in the area on Monday night and rescued Minar.
They also arrested the three alleged kidnappers by taking strategy of giving the money demanded as ransom through bKash (Mobile money transfer service).
