Launching ceremony of a book namely ‘A Manual of Style and Standards in Academic, Writing, Editing and Publishing’ was held at UGC auditorium recently.
UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan launched the book authored by Prof Manzurul Islam and published by Partridge Singapore (A Penguin Random House Company, USA) as the chief guest. UGC Member Prof Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali presided over the function.
UGC Chairman, in his speech said that teachers, students, researchers, authors, editors and copy editors would find the book useful in writing and editing manuscript. He stressed the need for quality editing for writing a book.
Dr Shudangshu Shekhar Roy, Department of Printing and Publishing Studies, Dhaka University, Mofidul Hoque, Director/ Publisher, Shahitya Prokash and Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Quality Assurance Unit, UGC discussed on the book. Teachers of universities and officials of UGC were present on the occasion.
