Bowlers dominated the first innings on day one in the 4th round of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) forcing their opponents not to score high at country’s four separate venues on Saturday.
In the eight-team 17th edition of the first class domestic cricket competition, Chittagong bowler Iftekhar Sajjad’s five-for helped restrict Rajshahi, batted first, at 208/10 in 72 overs in their tier-2 match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Chittagong opened the first innings and scored 43/0, at stumps, in 14 overs.
Claiming three wickets each, Sanjit Saha and Tanveer Haider jolted Dhaka Metro the side opening bat first narrowly at stumps for 211/7 in 92 overs against Rangpur in their tier-1 match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Masum Khan’s economic four-for with Mohammad Sharif and Ali Ahmmed Manik two wickets each for Dhaka Division dismissed Khulna, opted to bat first, at 117 in 39.4 overs in another tier-1 match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Dhaka Division opened the first innings on the day and scored 77/3, at stumps, in 24.1 overs.
In the tier-2 match at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Nasum Ahmed, Khaled Ahmed and Alok Kapali claimed 4, 2 and 2 wickets respectively for Sylhet to restrict Barisal at 155/10 in 55 overs.
Sylhet opened the innings and scored 45/1, at stumps, in 20 overs.
