The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) gave the approval of submission of the charge sheet against former Post and Telecommunications Minister Barrister Aminul Haque and his brother-in-law Mizanur Rahman on charge of laundering money, said ACC sources.
ACC in its routine meeting at head office in the city on Thursday last came up with the decision.
Barrister Aminul Haque reportedly helped Simians, a telecommunication company, to get the work of installation of BTTB’s Teletalk’s towers.
ACC on receipt of information from reliable
sources launched an investigation and found the evidence of irregularities against them.
They took a big amount of kickback from the said company and laundered it abroad. ACC Deputy Director Shahin Ara Momtaz looked into the complaint and got the evidence.
ACC Deputy Director Toufiqul Islam as a plaintiff filed the case with Rama Model Police Station on June 7, 2012.
