Key share price indices in the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — returned to positive note after three consecutive sessions of lose on Wednesday.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 12.72 points or 0.27 percent to close at 4805.66 on the day. Of the 319 issues traded, 160 gained, 106 declined and 53 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 431.75 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday as against Tk 456.55 crore on Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Delta Brac Housing Finance, National Housing Finance and Investment, Prime Insurance, Global Insurance, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, Gemini Sea Food, Monno Jute Stafflers, Rangpur Foundry, AMCL (Pran), and Monno Ceramic.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Square Pharmaceuticals, Islami Bank, Shahjibazar Power, Al-Haj Textile and Ifad Autos.
Top five losers of the day were First Bangladesh Fixed Income Fund, Standard Insurance, NCCBL Mutual Fund-1, ICB AMCL Third NRB Mutual Fund and BD Welding Electrodes.
