Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Dhaka WASA now in Dhaka launched the published book titled, “ The Dhaka Water Services Turnaround” on Thursday at Pan Pacific Hotel Sonargaon. The book published by ADB has included the achievements of Dhaka WASA under its “Turnaround programmes” taken in 2010. ADB has branded Dhaka WASA as “ One of South Asia’s Best Public Water Utilities” in the book.
Forest & Environment Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud was present at the ceremony as Chief Guest while State Minister of Finance M. A. Mannan and ADB Vice President Wencai Jhang were present as special guests. Dhaka WASA Managing Director Engr. Taqsem A Khan, chaired the ceremony where ADB Country Director Manmohan Prakash were also present. Besides, distinguished personalities of different strata of lives and top officials of both agencies were present among others, on this occasion.
Earlier the book unveiling ceremony was held at a ceremony at ADB’s Manila Headquarter on 8 December, 2017.
It is notable, Dhaka WASA has achieved tremendous successes among the South Asian countries’ water supply utility agencies under its “Turnaround Dhaka WASA Programme”.
