A seven-day long book fair began at Narsingdi Government College ground here on Thursday.
District administration organized the fair as prt of its celebrate program Ekushey and Inter national mother language day.
Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in a function inaugurated the fair with Additional Deputy Commissioner Suriya Begum in the chair.
The inaugural function was addressed among others by Police Super Amena Begum, Principal (Acting) of Narsingdi government college Sirajul Islam, Chairman Narsingdi Sadar upazila parishad Monzur Elahi, Former principal Narsingdi government college Mohammad Ali, Former principal Golam Mostafa Miah and District Muktijuddah Commander Abdul Motaleb Pathen.
A total of 60 stalls of books, handicrafts and cottage industry products were put on display in the fair.
In the fair premises Seminar and cultural function will be continued for the scheduled days for attraction the fair.
A large number of public including students, teachers, children and women visited the fair on the opening day.
The fair will remain open for all from 3pm to 9pm daily.
