The popular 1970s disco group Boney M is coming to Bangladesh to perform “Bony M live in Dhaka.” This widely-popular band will perform on July 13 at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre’s Hall of Fame, in Dhaka.
Creinse Limited, a private company will host the hour-and-a-half – long musical event starting at 7pm. The tickets of the music event will be sold from July 7 and the ticket prices are Tk2,000, Tk3,500, and Tk4,800 and Tk12,000.
Boney M is a Euro-Caribbean vocal group and the four original members of the group’s official line-up were Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica,; Maizie Williams from Montserrat; and Bobby Farrell from Aruba. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with different members.
The band has sold more than 80 million records and is known for massive international hits such as: “Daddy Cool,” “Ma Baker,” “Rasputin,” “Mary’s Boy Child – Oh My Lord,” and “Rivers of Babylon.” Their first album was titled “Take the Heat off Me,” released in 1976, and their last album, “Eye Dance,”dropped in 1985.
