Bombs hurled at house, businesses of AL MP in Jashore

At least 12 crude bombs were exploded at six different places in Jashore town near the residence of a local lawmaker and establishments belonging to Awami League (AL) leaders creating panic early Sunday.
The spate of bomb attacks followed at Hotel Jabir International, a five-star hotel facility, and Chaklader Filling Station belonging to Jashore unit AL’s General Secretary Shahin Chaklader.
No casualties were reported immediately. Police collected the samples and evidences from the scenes, reports our district correspondent quoting Apurba Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station.
Criminals exploded crude bombs targeting the residence of ruling Awami League lawmaker from Jashore-3 Kazi Nabil Ahmed around 3:00am, the OC said.
Crude bombs were also charged targeting the residences of Tauhid Chaklader, a cousin of Shahin, Imam Hasan Lal, Acting General Secretary of Jashore town unit AL and Jubo League leader Rajibul Alam, the police official said.
Meanwhile, Shafiqul Islam Jewel, a local Jubo League leader said that terrorists might have carried out the attacks to frighten the people. In his reaction, Moinuddin Mithu, Organising secretary of Jashore district unit Jubo League, said that perpetrators hurled crude bombs at the residences of two local AL and Jubo League leaders on the night of January 25.
Jashore Kotwali Police Station OC Apurba Hasan said “Police are trying to nab the attackers.”
