Four people, including a policeman, were injured when muggers charged Molotov cocktail targeting the law enforcers at Chawkbazaar area in the city on Tuesday.The injured Constable was identified as Saidur Rahman, 37. Besides, a suspected attacker ‘Khokan’ and two other pedestrians, Sentu and Sani, also received splinter injuries in the blast.They threw a bomb when the team of mobile police went to the spot to make inquiries.Police said a gang of 4/5 muggers was taking preparation to snatch valuables from the passerby at Zamindarbari lane near East Islambagh of Chawkbazaar area at about 6 am.Sensing trouble, a member of mobile team Constable Saidur went to nab the muggers. They hurled cocktails aiming him, leaving Saidur and two passers-by injured, police added.The policeman, with splinter injuries on his legs, has been given first aid, while others have been taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Inspector [Investigation] of Chawkbazaar Police Station Md Alamgir Hossain confirmed the blast and said the police have been conducting operation to nab other members of the gang.
