Crude bomb blasted at gate of the residence of Barisal city AL secretary Advocate Afzalul Karim at Shyam Babu Lane of the city yesterday early hours.
Police visited the spot on Monday morning and Advocate Afzal lodged a general diary in this connection with Kotwali police station.
Advocate Afzal denying making any comment said hearing two big bangs outside the gate of the house, neighbouring apartment residents coming out saw two youths running away riding motorcycle at 2:15 AM Monday. Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer in charge, said hearing about the incident police visited the spot at 9:00 AM Monday and collected samples of blasted handmade bombs from the spot.
Ansaruddin, assistant commissioner Barisal Metropolitan Police, said the bomb may be blasted to make Advocate Afzal mentally weak and may be connected with internal factional of city AL, personal dispute or rival political party .
However police taking the incident seriously, started investigation, police officials told.
