UNB, Dhaka :
Ruling party MP Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Wednesday said in Parliament that the Board of Investment (BoI)
Bangladesh has failed to attract foreign investment in the country.
“The Board of Investment has miserably failed in creating infrastructures for foreign investment and implementing the policy,” he said participating in the budget discussion.
“The Board of Investment could not take effective measures to attract foreign investment. It is the Board of Investment which will have to bear the responsibility,” the AL joint general secretary said.
Hanif asked Finance Minister AMA Muhith to reshuffle the BoI with competent and patriotic people. He said the government fails to provide necessary gas connections to industrial units. Thousands of applications seeking gas connection remain shelved in Petrobangla.
