A body of three and a half years old child named Azim was recovered from the village pond at Boror Bazar of Akhaura Municipality in Brahmanbaria district early Tuesdday after 17 hours of his missing.
Deceased Azim was the son of one Rubel Miah of Boror Bazar area.
The victim’s family members said, Azim went missing while playing with other children in the Balurmath on Monday noon.
Local people found the body near the pond and
informed the family. Being informed, they rescued Azim and rushed him to Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Azim’s family members claimed that he might have been killed anywhere and, later, the body was left near the pond at night.
Local Awami League leader and resident of Malderpara village, Mobarak Hossain told the media that Azim disappeared while playing on Monday with other children.
On Tuesday morning local people saw the body of Azim in the village pond around 5am.
Mosharraf Hossain Tarafdar, Officer-in Charge (OC) of Akhaura Police Station said no one complained about the incident yet.
The action will be taken after investigation.
