A nine-member committee has been formed to develop a one-stop digital railway passenger service system.
Railways Ministry and Information and Communication Technology Division will conduct the activities jointly.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT Division, said that the system would be developed by April 2020 and then it would be ready for implementation.
Under the system, service seekers can avail all railway services including selecting train seats, buying tickets, ordering foods, lodging complaints and rating train services using mobile phones.
The nine-member committee was formed in presence of Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan and State Minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The system would facilitate Bangladesh Railway to get free from corruption and become digitalised, said the participants.
