UNB, Chandpur :
Floating bodies of four boys were recovered from a pond in Randhunimura village in Hajiganj municipality on Tuesday, a day after they went missing.
The deceased were identified as Rahul, 13, Shamim, 11, son of Wasim, Raihan, 11, son of Ahsan and Liyon, 9, son of Nazrul Islam of Shuku Chairman Bari of the village. Jabedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Police Station, said the minors went missing on Monday evening while they were playing beside the pond.
Locals suspected that they might have slipped into the pond while playing and drowned there. Later in the morning, victims’ family members found their floating bodies in the pond. However, members of the victims’ families claimed that all of them knew how to swim.
