Ship sank in the Pashur channel: Bodies of 2 out of 5 missing staff recovered

Dead bodies of 2 out of 5 missing sailors of a balk-head ship named MV. Fardin-1 loaded with 6 hundred tones coal sank in the Pashur channel near at Jetty No.9 in the harbour area of Mongla Sea Port when it was collided with a foreign ship at Monday night (at about 9-25 pm) were recovered on Tuesday night by the coastguards from the channel after long 18 hours, according to a report received here. The recovered dead bodies are the staff of the ship. Some 3 persons are still missing following the sinking of the ship. A strong expedition has been going on by the coastguards of the Western Zone deployed Mongla in order to recover the missing sailors since the accident taken place, it was disclosed by both coastguards and Mongla Port authorities.
It is learnt from the coastguards that at the night (Monday at 9-25 pm) when the ill-fated balk-head ship MV. Fardina-1 left the area and crossed just 7 hundred yards after loading the coal from the mother vessel MV. Elina-B anchored at jetty No.9 of the harbour it was collided violently with another mother vessel (named MV. Handipark carrying the flag of Panama) that was leaving the port after unloading TSP fertilizer. As a result, coal laden ship MV. Fardina-1was tilted sideways and sank in the channel.
At that time 2 security guards and five sailors who boarded it were missing. At the night 2 of them were rescued alive. With the recovery of the 2 dead bodies of the missing staff the rest three are still missing. Md. Lokman Hossain, Supervisor of T Haq Company who was in the foreign mother ship MV.
