The government has formed scrutinising committees at upazila and district levels across the country in a bid to include the real freedom fighters in the government list and dispose of the allegations brought against some listed freedom fighters.
The Ministry of
Liberation War Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Sunday. The committees will scrutinise the applications submitted by the freedom fighters and documents of the listed freedom fighters.
Each committee will be consisted of a president, a member secretary and five members.
The presidents of the committees will be selected by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs but if any Member of Parliament (MP) is himself or herself a freedom fighter he or she will be the committee president at upazila and district level.
