SA Games: BOA announces training schedules of 4 more sports

The training and development committee of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) on Tuesday announced the training schedule of four more sports events –Volleyball, Kabaddi, Swimming and Shooting — for the next year’s South Asian Games.
The 12th South Asian Games will be held in the Indian city of Guwahati (Assam) and Shillong (Meghalaya) from January 10-20 next year.
Some 2,500 athletes from the eight member countries — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka — are expected to participate in the regional multi-sporting event.
The training camp for Volleyball team will begin on August 6 at the Mirpur Indoor Stadium, followed by Men’s Kabaddi at Kabaddi Stadium and the Women’s Kabaddi at Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports complex, both on August 7.
The training camp for Swimming will start on August 10 at the Mirpur Swimming Complex while the camp for shooting will start on the same day at the National Shooting Complex in Gulshan.
BOA training and development committee chairman and BOA deputy secretary general Ashiqur Rahman Miku presided over the meeting.
Earlier on Monday, the BOA announced training programmes for Archery, Boxing, Badminton and Table Tennis.
