Former State Minister for Communication and BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed collected nomination forms to contest two seats out of four seats in Cox’s Bazar. Meanwhile, the nomination form was collected for Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua ) and Cox’s Bazar-2 (Maheshkhali-Kutubdia) constituencies.
On the other hand, his wife, former MP Adv Hasina Ahmed, has collected the nomination form for Chakaria-Pekua seat. Dhaka Purana Paltan collects nomination forms from BNP’s central office through their representative. BNP leaders of Chakaria Upazila confirmed the fact of taking the form.
Party sources said that since the beginning of the election of BNP nomination form from 12 November, no one has collected nomination forms in this constituency. BNP leaders said that they will wait till the last day of the sale to see who is taking nomination forms to fight this constituency. Meanwhile, it is not yet certain whether BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmad Adu will be able to participate in the most discussed Chakaria-Pekua seat in the district. He is still staying in Shilong of Meghalaya state of India. BNP activists said that BNP leader Salahuddin was arrested in a case for infiltration in India when he was able to return to the country after the legal complications. He was released from a court in Shillong for a long time through legal process.
If it does not come in the schedule announced by the Election Commission, its candidate will become uncertain. In that case, his wife Advocate Hasina Ahmed will contest from Chakaria-Pekua seat, said activists.
On the night of March 10, 2015, Dhaka took him from a house in Uttara to detect intelligence. Two months after Nichoja, on May 11, 2015, the BNP leader Salahuddin meets Meghalaya’s state capital Shillong. Shilong Police filed a case with the court of Meghalaya in India against them in 2015 under section 14 of the Foreigners Act for illegally entering the country without legal papers. After the investigation into the case of the Foreigners Act, Meghalaya Police filed the charges against him on June 3, 2015. Based on the charge sheet, on July 22, 2015, Shillong’s court began the trial of Salahuddin. After three years of legal process, on September 26, 2011, the acquittal of the case was acquitted. However, due to legal complications, he is currently staying in Shillong.
Note that in 1991-96, Salahuddin Ahmed served as the personal assistant of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia (APS).
Later, he was elected MP of Chakaria-Pekua constituency in the 1996 and 2001 Jatiya Sangsad elections. After the election, the BNP-Jamaat alliance government also took the responsibility of the minister of communications. The BNP leader was arrested for corruption during the next one-eleven. At that time, he was indicted in the corruption case. While being in jail, his wife Hasina Ahmed was elected a MP in the 2008 parliamentary election.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engr Mosharraf Hossain said, modernization works of Ramna Park aimed at preserving the location of Bangabandhu’s historical speech and surrender of Pak occupation army is being implemented at a cost of Tk.300 crores.
He disclosed it while addressing the inauguration ceremony of SM Rahman Hall at Chattogram Press Club Bhaban and its fourth and fifth floor yesterday morning as chief guest.
The minister expressed pleasures over the involvement in some good activities of Chattogram Press club a nd praised the journalists for their nation building role .

He further informed that about 20 lakh dwellers of the city have been benefitted through modernization of Jamburi Park in Agrabad commercial hub at a cost of Tkj.22 cr. He also apprised that an eye catching park built at Halishahar and DC Hill will be beautified more than the other parks of the country very shortly.
The Minister also mentioned about the ongoing works of Karnaphuli Tunnel and Mirsarai Economic Zone . He also apprised that a number of foreign countries including Singapore, Saudi Arab, Korea given space allotment for heavy industries. In a question of the journalists regarding accommodation problems, the minister informed that these growing problem will be solved by the National Housing Authority in coming days.

He further said a latest technically developed Cineplex will be built at Halishaher for viewing the documentary films . President of CPC Kalim Sarwar presided over the function .
