BNP wants talks to solve pol crisis

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday urged the government to start dialogue soon with all the political parties, responding to the call of the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and to create democratic environment.
 “We call the government to sit with the BNP and other political parties, responding to the call of our Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The government should not waste time to start discussions to find out way to hold the election peacefully,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
He said it while addressing a discussion meeting at the Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital on the occasion of Dr. Shamsul Alam Khan Milan’s death anniversary, who died in the procession for movement against the autocrat HM Ershad in 1990.
The BNP leader has critisised the ruling Awami League for behaving tyrannically.
Veteran DAB leader Professor Siraj Uddin Ahmed presided over the programme. BNP Vice-Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain,
BNP Chairperson Advisory Council Member Aman Ullah Aman, BNP central leader Habibur Rahman, Fazlul Haque Milan, Nazim Uddin Alam, Advocate Rafique Sikdar and Khandaker Lutfar Rahman, among others, spoke at the programme.
Meanwhile BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan the same day asked the government to give temporary shelters to the vulnerable Rohingya Muslims fleeing the torture in neighboring Myanmar.
He said it while giving speech in a separate discussion meeting at the same place.
 ‘Deshnetri Forum’ arranged the meeting to protest cases against the BNP Chief and demanded withdrawal without delay.
Nazrul Islam Khan condemned the fabricated cases against Khaleda Zia.
AKM Bashiruddin, President of the organisation, presided over the programme. BNP Vice-Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan, central leader ABM Mosharraf Hossain and Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah, among others, delivered lectures.
