Movement for restoration of democracy starts from Barishal: BNP wants dialogue on participatory polls after release of Khaleda: Fakhrul

Mirza Fakhrul Islam, Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, said movement for restoration of democracy starts from Barisal. BNP wants to join in any dialogue only after release of political leaders including Khaleda Zia for creating level playing field and proper environment to hold participatory election under neutral impartial government.
The BNP secretary general as chief guest was addressing at the divisional conference of BNP held on the central Eidgah Maidan of the city on Saturday afternoon.
The movement of BNP was not for going to power, but for restoration of democracy, safeguarding of independence and sovereignty, Mirza Fakhrul added.
Mirza Fakhrul said that a bad time of autocracy is passing now. Ruling autocrats staging mock trial under false allegations imprisoned Chairperson Khaleda Zia without giving her division-status in jail.
He called the young activists for taking oath and creating movement to restoration of right for vote.
Among others Khandokar Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Begum Selima Rahman, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Dr. Moin Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Shahjahan Omar, Abdul Awal Mintu, Barkatullah Bulu, Mustafizur Rahman, Bilkis Jahan Shirin, central leaders of BNP as special guests addressed the programme along with leaders of local units.
The programme was presided over by Mojibor Rahman Sarwar, city BNP president and central organizing secretary.
Mentionable after long bargaining with law enforcers, BNP threats to hold divisional conference at any cost, then on Friday late night police permitted to hold the conference at Barisal Hemayetuddin Eidghah Maidan on Saturday.
From morning BNP and it front organization activists’ starts to assemble in and around the conference spot.
The meeting started after 2:00 PM.
