The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have made a plan to strengthen its agitation against the government to realise people’s rights including holding national election under the neutral government.
In this connection, the party high command will unite the pro-democratic parties in order to steer street movement within days after holding meetings and exchanging communications with one another, party sources said.
The meeting of the BNP standing committee, the highest policy making body of the party, will be held within days for deciding the next course of action, sources said.
The people of the country have lost confidence in the Awami League’s sincerity about conducting neutral national polls.
The constant price hiking of daily essentials have made the people displeased.. People firmly believe that any neutral polls must make the ruling party’s era end and the BNP (and its like minded parties) have great potentials of forming the next government.
The BNP men also alleged that the government had snatched away their victories in the past using the coercive power. In view of these analysis, the party policy makers have made a strong plan of movement for making the regime compel to establish a election time neutral government.
Party leaders said that the BNP and other pro-democratic parties believe that he government have snatched their political rights.
The leaders said that the government has kept BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman ‘inactive’ from political activities through its conspiracies.
The party men said also that the government is using police to stop any type of democratic movement, even peaceful human chains. In this situation, they said, all the pro-democratic parties now want to start strong agitation to regain their rights of speech and activities.
BNP sources said that the party high command has planned to build strong ties with like minded and other pro-democratic parties soon.It also planned to repair weakness of the BNP-led 20 party alliance and make it stronger than the previous days.
After coordinating with those political parties, the sources said, mass street programmes will be declared.
When contacted, Mirza Abbas, Standing Committee Member of the BNP told The New Nation on Friday, “The agitation against the incumbent government is ongoing. The people of the country are in struggle to live with the limitless price hiking of daily essentials. They massively want to end the era of the government soon. We are obviously with the people in the same struggle.”
“We have observed different agitation programmes against price hiking of several utilities and essentials even during the pandemic and Ramadan for favouring the people’s right to live.
The politician said that the movement would be more speedy day by day.
When contacted, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, BNP Joint-Secretary General told The New Nation, “People of the country do not want the incumbent government to stay in power any more.
