BNP team leaves for UK

A high-profile five-member BNP delegation led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka for London on Saturday to attend a seminar there on July 19.
The UK House of Lords has organised the seminar to discuss over the prevailing political and human rights situation in Bangladesh, BNP sources said.
The other members of the delegation are: BNP Chairperson’s advisers Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Sabihuddin Ahmed and Nitai Roy Chowdhury and Barrister Rumin Farhana.
During the day-long seminar, issues like the country’s prevailing political situation, militancy and terrorism, crossfire, human rights, media freedom, among other issues, are likely be discussed.
A delegation from ruling Awami League led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister is also likely to join the seminar.
