Killings, abductions: BNP submits list to diplomats

The BNP on Wednesday gave a list of killings, abductions and forced disappearances centering the January-5 election to the foreign diplomats based in Dhaka. The list was provided at a meeting of the BNP leaders with the foreign diplomats at a city hotel in Gulshan area on the day.
Diplomats from France, Singapore, Netherlands, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Japan, Australia, USA, Nepal, Pakistan, UNDP and EP attended the meeting.
BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, party vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, chairperson’s advisors Dr M Osman Faruk, Reaz Rahman, Sabihuddin Ahmed and Enam Ahmed Chowdhury and journalist Shafique Rehman were present.
Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told the media after the meeting that they discussed different issues. He, however, did not reveal any specific agenda of the meeting.
Another BNP leader, who attended the meeting, said that they provided the foreign diplomats a picture of killings, abductions and forced disappearance taking place in the country. Besides, the BNP leaders also discussed the involvement of law enforcing agencies with the incidents. They provided details of the victims of the incidents, he said.
