‘BNP out to make BD terror state again’

Awami League Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzak on Sunday said BNP is conspiring to make Bangladesh a terror state again and urged all to remain alert against the plot.
“In the name of election, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is hatching conspiracies again to make Bangladesh a failed state. So everyone will have to stay alert against such a plot,” he told an extended meeting of Dhaka South city unit of Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue here.
Awami League Dhaka South city unit organised the meeting for chalking out month-long programmes on the occasion of 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15.
Addressing the meeting, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said Begum Khaleda Zia fled London to escape trial over graft case. “Khaleda Zia mainly moved to London to escape graft case and she intentionally delaying the case on various baseless grounds,” he said.
Quamrul said the case is now at final stage and there is no way to make the graft case further delay.
The minister said Khaleda Zia is hatching conspiracies with national and international beneficiaries of the 1/11 to foil the national polls. “She (Khaleda) is also plotting for putting evil force in power,” he added.
With AL Dhaka South city unit President Haji Abul Hasnat in the chair, the meeting also addressed, among others, by Dhaka South city unit Vice-President M Humayun Kabir, General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Organizing Secretary Golam Ashraf Talukder.
