The BNP will sell nomination papers on Wednesday among mayor aspirants for three cities including Rajshahi, Barishal and Sylhet from its Nayapaltan central office.
The party Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced it at a press briefing at its central office on Tuesday. He said the mayoral candidates will submit nomination papers on Thursday in the same office.
The BNP leader said the nomination papers could be collected and submitted from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both days. Each nomination paper will cost Tk 10,000 and candidates will have to pay Tk 25,000 as security money while submitting it at the party office.
Rizvi said the date for interview of candidates would be informed later on.
The mayoral polls to Rajshahi, Barishal and Sylhet are scheduled to be held on July 30.
According to the Election Commission (EC) announced schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is June 28. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is July 9.
BNP leaders Ahmed Azam Khan, AZM Zahid Hossain, Ariful Hoq Chowdhury and Taiful Islam Tipu, among others, were present at the press briefing.
