A faction of BNP men on Thursday scuffled with its own workers centering the newly formed Dhaka district unit committee of the party.
The deprived leaders of the unit blocked the new committee leaders and their supporters in Maulana Bhasani Bhaban at Nayapaltan during the reception ceremony of the committee there around 11:00am.
The BNP announced a 266-member Dhaka district unit committee on March 27 nominating Md. Salauddin as President and Abu Ashfak as General Secretary.

The deprived leaders of the unit blocked the new committee leaders and their supporters in Maulana Bhasani Bhaban at Nayapaltan during the reception ceremony of the committee there around 11:00am.

BNP Central Executive Committee Member Nipun Roy Chowdhury with the district committee president and general secretary and others were present during the blockade.
Party insiders said, the dispute is between the supporters of the party’s Standing Committee Member Goyeswar Chandra Roy and the Chairperson’s Advisor Amanullah Aman.
Goyeswar’s supporters dominate the committee unlawfully, claimed Aman’s supporters.
The deprived leaders and their supporters chanted slogans including “We don’t accept the illegal committee, cancel it soon.”
