UNB, Sirajganj :
BNP Vice-chairman Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was released from jail on bail on Friday.
He walked out of the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital around 11am after his bail order reached there, said Tuku’s lawyer Mir Ruhul Amin Babu.
BNP men vandalised and torched a train at Mulibari Railway Station of Saidabad in Sirajganj on October in 2010 as it killed six party activists and injured several others during a rally there.
Seven cases were filed against several BNP leaders, including Tuku, over the incident.
A local court sent Tuku, also a former state minister, to jail after he surrendered before it on April 10 last in connection with the cases. Later, he secured bail in the cases from the High Court.
