Former State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism and BNP vice-chairman Abdul Mannan died yesterday night at the Evercare Hospital in the capital.
He was 78. He is survived by a daughter, host of relatives and number of admirers, according to Somoy TV online desk.
Abdul Mannan was the MD of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. After his retirement, he participated in the national elections of 1991, 1996 and 2001 from Dhaka-2 constituency as a BNP candidate and was elected Member of Parliament four times in a row.
Meanwhile, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at the demise of Mannan.
